Review: “Young Gotham Sampler” by DC Comics

gothamI received an e-book galley of DC Comic’s “Young Gotham Sampler” that contains Grayson: Agents of  SpyralBatgirl: The Batgirl of Burnside, and Gotham Academy: Welcome to Gotham Academy.

Grayson: As a longtime fan of Nightwing, I was beyond thrilled to read the new 52. The story line was very intriguing– a new chapter of Dick’s life as a spy is just beginning. I also enjoyed the art very much and the entirely new conception of Dick Grayson and Nightwing. Very highly recommended to any fans of the Bat-verse. 5/5 stars.

Batgirl: Batgirl is one of my all time favorite superheroes and the new 52 didn’t disapoint. It had a very cool art concept– different yet imaginative that added a very modern twist to the story. In this reboot, Babs moves to Burnside and has to take up the cowl to defeat a tech-savvy villain. Overall, I was happily impressed. 5/5 Stars.

Gotham Academy: Gotham Academy: Spooky campus? Check. Oddball teachers? Check. Strange students? Double check. In Gotham City’s most prestigious academy strange things can happen. The story follows Olive, a student with a secret. The story appeals to young comic fans, with it’s spooky, suspenseful story and its graphically appealing art. 4/5 Stars.

All three are must reads that guarantee excitement and intrigue.

I received a free e-book of “Young Gotham Sampler” courtesy of Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
